As we go into this New Year 2012, my brother, Jim, my sister, Mary, and I have great expectations for the desire in our hearts. We are not a selfish people - our dreams and plans center around creating a space where people can go to relax and renew their souls. We want to share our bounty with others and will continue to walk in paths that lead us toward this goal. We look forward to you joining us along the way or after we arrive.
We are going to purchase a 5 bedroom dome home on 21+ acres in the country just outside of French Lick, Indiana. The bedrooms will be rented out to the public on a nightly basis or for as long as people want to stay. The entire structure will also be available for retreats, confences, weddings, birthday parties OR however someone visualizes the space meeting their needs. There is an indoor swimming pool, as well as a large fishing pond.
Our future plans include providing lunches and dinners on site to accommodate meetings and large events. We plan to host groups and classes on computers, Internet, painting, quilting, Yoga, Tai Chi, stained glass, and American Sign Language, just to list a few. The Deaf Community could hold gatherings and dinners in a supportive environment. We will encourage Boy Scouts and Girl Scouts to schedule camps utilizing the lodge and surrounding grounds. Church groups can reserve the facility for Summer Bible Schools.
With the help of subcontractors, French Lick Dome & Retreat Center will be able to offer Musicians and DJs, event equipment and furniture rentals, event catering, audio-visual rentals and support. Pricing will be negotiated on an event specific basis depending on utilization of the space and surrounding grounds, as would special events wanting use of the premises by day or evening.
We plan to become major recyclers on the property. The environment is of major concern to all of us. Our hope is to help spread the word to all those who visit or stay with us regarding recycling and encourage everyone to become more involved in that effort.
